Lee Abbey Fellowship

LEE ABBEY DEVON

Description

Situated on the spectacular North Devon coast in Exmoor National Park, Lee Abbey Devon is home to an international Christian Community of around 80 adults and children. We open our home inviting guests to come and stay with us, and participate in a varied programme of themed weeks (Monday afternoon to Friday morning) and weekends throughout the year. Themes include discipleship, Bible weeks, personal development, science and faith, the environment, relationships, well-being, prayer, estate working parties and creativity. A stay at Lee Abbey Devon is far more than just a Christian retreat or Christian holiday. It is an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ through worship, teaching, ministry and interacting with the Community, in ways which, we pray, will transform your life, relationships and community, and our environment and world.

Lee Abbey Devon features a Grade II listed house on a 288 acre estate where the South West coast path goes right past the front door. We can accommodate up to 120 guests in the main house in a range of bedroom types including single, twin, double, triple and family rooms, some en-suite, some not, and the majority of them with a sea or country view. A further 44 guests can be accommodated in the purpose built Beacon Activity Centre.

We also offer The Tea Cottage (May to September), a working farm and the Camp Field, set within an environment of fields, hills and woodland, and our own beach just a few minute’s walk away.

There are also three self catering options on the estate: Tinkerbell (sleeps 2), The Cabin (sleeps 4) and The Chalet (sleeps 12) which are bookable throughout the year.

You are very welcome to come and stay - on your own, as a couple or family, in a group, team, community or church group - in this ‘thin’ place where the closeness of God can be experienced and encountered.

Our Values:

ENCOUNTER: Our purpose is to facilitate life changing encounters with Jesus Christ, to hear his call and live it out as part of his church.

COMMUNITY: We encourage shared living with grace, humility, honesty and vulnerability, enabling all to flourish and grow.

HOSPITALITY: We share what we have, welcome with generosity and make space for the ‘other’.

SIMPLICITY:  We keep the main thing the main thing, wishing to ensure sustainability of people and the planet by living simply.
