Listing Description

Sunny Bank Farm is a large, beautifully refurbished farmhouse. Ideal for celebrating family occasions  or for an active get-away with a group of friends, it has everything you might need for quality holiday living. Extremely well equipped for self-catering, it is also within an easy drive of some outstanding Lakeland pubs and restaurants. It's a great place for dogs too!

Set in a stunning location on the quiet western shore of Coniston Water, it has private fields, woods and lake shore, and is surrounded by open fell. Bring your own boat or hire our rowing boat and Canadian canoes. Take your pick of a selection of great walks right from the doorstep, or relax and enjoy the  tranquillity of the beautiful garden.

There are two lounges, both with lots of comfortable sofas. One has a log fire and a great view of the colourful shrubs in the garden. This one is great for reading, conversation, and maybe a jigsaw. The second lounge has a smart TV with FreeView, a large selection of DVDs and a cupboard full of board games.

There is central heating throughout, but it's still nice to enjoy the comfort of a real log fire.

The lovely beamed kitchen has all the small appliances, utensils, cupboards and worktop space you are likely to need for catering for 12. There is a range cooker with 2 large electric fan ovens, a 5-ring induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer with ice maker and separate drinks fridge.

The large oak dining table easily seats 12 - just the space for extended holiday wining and dining with friends and family! There's a high-chair if required.

Upstairs, off the wide oak-beamed landing, are five charming bedrooms, all with lovely views of the garden. There are two doubles, two twins, and a triple (three single beds), plus a single bedroom on the ground floor. All bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own towels for swimming, etc.

Extra bathrooms have been cleverly incorporated, so that the first three bedrooms upstairs all have en-suite facilities (see floor plans for details). The second double room compensates by having a great view down to the lake, and the final twin room has a wash basin. The bathroom (with the bath!) is also accessible from the landing - useful if you have young children, and an additional shower room with washbasin and toilet is available for shared use.

The single bedroom.downstairs has access to a ground floor shower room with toilet and washbasin. All rooms have plenty of drawer and hanging space. A large travel cot is also provided.

Many fun activities can be enjoyed without even getting in a car. The lake is on hand for boating, paddling, swimming or fishing. There are walks-a-plenty from the doorstep, many with breath-taking views. Further afield you can explore pretty Lakeland villages, climb Coniston Old Man, go cycling or mountain-biking. Or enjoy a barbecue and a game of croquet in the garden.
